A long time coming

So I managed a weekend of vague activity!!! Managed to run out of money and I've still got three weeks until I can get any more so seeing as I couldn't go out what was I supposed to do?

Sat - 10 mile bike ride from my flat to Portobello then back along the promenade (could have gone further but headwind and first bike expedition in a long time so it was far enough!)

Sun - quick hill walk with Jen (about 3 miles/1 hour) nice to get out of the city (cylced to hers and back with the walk in between)

Also managed to watch Tie me up! Tie me down!, Live Flesh, Bad Education, Talk to her (All almodovar films), Saboteur (Hitchcock) and Love actually, and break the washing machine oh and I managed to make 10 chinese dinner portions for the freezer and 5 portions of pea and parmesan risotto for lunch for the next week...have to everything in power to save money (The bill for the weekend totals £10.91...ace!)

Until next time...Lucy x

silence after the storm...

...that was portugal!

Had a wicked time with alot of boozy activity prior during and after. The fitness front is looking pretty shaky, so far since the start of October I have no activity to report except for the fact that I walked to work this morning...soooo friggin lame. Will hopefully have something to report shortly x

A poor attempt to erase the guilt

So Monday night, forgot the job application form I was going to complete this eve so decided to watch a couple of films and tidy my room...which I couldn't be bothered doing so I did a bit of conditioning instead:

30 Crunchies x 5
30 Back lifts x 5
30 Side Crunchies x 2
30 Tricep dips x 2
50 lat pulls x 1
50 pec/lat reps x 2
50 x bicep pulls x 1

Cycled to work too! 20mins (uphill) 2 miles

Was supposed to be swimming this afternoon but I'm heading back to the Shire for malky's leaving party so can't be done :-( Can't go on Sun either as will be away.

My weekends seems to be following a pattern!

People need to remind me that drinking out of a bottle (esp at a wedding) is not ladylike even if I am wearing a pretty dress! Friday night was a bit of a rightoff, Johnny T and Amy got married in Creiff, really beautiful evening.

The it was Claire's B'day on Sat pm so headed out for that, then up early to get the bus to Prestonpans for their half marathon, it was a really good event with every weather condition! A bit of a lack of

briefing for the Marshalls and the paper work provided didn't even include a route map which I think could definitely be an idea for next year, then dinner with the girls in the flat, Chloe is finally moving out so it was a farewell dinner, very tasty too and quite drunken, at 2 we were still sipping the Courvoisier and taking silly pics! I love dinner parties...need to make up for the lack of anything active this week?! xxx

The pain is ongoing!!!

Swimming again this morning:

5 min cycle to the pool (downhill)

800yds FC
3 x 200yds IM (Pull, Kick & Full (fogot my float...boo!))
200yds FC swim down

1600yds = 1463m = 30mins (got up late)

10 min cycle home (uphill)

20 min walk to work (uphill)

Just got email about swimming comps and I'm having an internal battle as to wether to enter any or not...why are decisions so difficult?

A weekend of excess

After a massively indulgent weekend (pissed in Fri pm (2pm - 12midnight) nachos lunch & beer (sat am), £16 cheese dinner (sat pm),

night on the boozy, cheese b'fast (Sun am) then more food and dvd's on Sun pm) I guilted myself into cycling to work, flat tyre and seat way too low later a very disgruntled and frustrated Lucy arrived at work, will repair for journey home.

15min cycle (2 miles - up a very steep hill!)

but at least it's down hill on the way home :-)

20min power walk up hill to work

legs aren't working anymore, feel very sorry for myself and have already eaten my lunch!

Turning over a new leaf

The Fringe is over and something has gotta change. No pool action since May, no running action since March and no bike action since August last year...so I mean to make an effort.

Monday Sept 10
Walk - Pentlands
40 mins up (very very steep incline)/15 mins down (a bit like fell running although less control)

Felt absolutely knacked on the way up, had to stop for quite a few breathers...tres unfit :-(

Then home to recover and bask in the sun!

My Hols... abridged!

So after a mega hectic August I managed a week away! We visited Home for Hanny's B'day, Cumbria for a michelin star lunch at sharrow bay and camping in pooley bridge,

a visit to a quarry, a stone circle and dinner and drinks in Cockermouth (whilst also tasting some beer brewed in the smallest brewery in Cumbria (At The Bitter End)), Edinburgh to drop off camping stuff as the car's MOT was just about to run out, Kinross for sunbathing, cycling, adventure playgrounding and a big dinner party with friends, then down to Middlesbrough for a night then back to the burgh via Newcastle to see my mum and one of her primary school Friends!

Then had a solitary day yesterday, and managed to climb a hill, shop, return the hire car, then spent a couple of hours in the back garden soaking up the rays and reading my book! So much done in so little time!

All over for another year...very sad

We've had the closing party, the high street and ticket village are being disected as I type and the FOTF Box office is nearly empty, after a little carpet fitting action all will be complete. The office is really quite over 100 staff left on Monday and the atmosphere is a little flat but what did I expect?

Hot chip is on to raise the spirits and here's to 2008! xx

Its nearly over but home is calling!

So peeps from home ventually came to the Burgh! Very very exciting!

Saw a show called Ugly Kid then went out all day, Speigle garden followed by various other venues, I love the Fringe!

There were loads of us: Me, Kenny, Rory, Malki, Ritchie, Jen, Andy, Matthew, Kate, Jen C, Chrissi, Mike, Rob and Anna...brilliant!

Tomorrow is the last day which I think is actually quite sad, I'm not sure how I am going to fill my days but i'm sure I'll survive.

Home is calling, It's Hannah's birthday on the first so I'll be heading back to Tregarth to visit her and Alice, I bet she's grown loads!

tortoises, rain and drink!

I can't believe how much it has rained this summer last night the streets of Edinburgh transformed into river me think the recent block buster movie may be to blame!

Twas a good night...although got completely and utterly drenched running between a couple of pubs, very very funny, puddle splashing is fun but wellies would have increased the enjoyment!

A week tomorrow and it's all over for another year...very sad :-(

RBS Gogarburn Fringe event was really well recieved too with Africa's heartbeat taking centre stage...they are lovely, vute and really brilliant!

The hangovers have kicked in and the Exhibition is up!

The parties were good and I'm starting to feel a little more ready for the party month...bring it on!

The Schools Poster Exhibition was constructed with my own fair hands and is officially erected in John Lewis and even if I do say so myself it is looking mighty fine! I'll try and get my camera there shortly...can't not have pictures :-)
